Photos - Brisbane Jan 8 - 10 The Crocodile Hunter Bonus Section Biggles Presents Australia		January 8 - 10, 2001 The Crocodile Hunter The final stop in the trip was the city of Brisbane, where a majority of time was spent visiting friends in the pubs and restaraunts of Queen Street Mall. Tom, Brad, and Biggles also visited the Australia Zoo, home of the infamous Crocodile Hunter. Two stories of 100%, pure Steve Irwin. Perhaps the most interesting exhibit in the Australia Zoo is Harriet, the Galapagos Turtle, born in 1830. Harriet spends most of her day sleeping in the shade, eating, and going to the bathroom--and she's over 170 years-old. We could all learn a lesson from her lifestyle. Harriet's first encounter with the human species, back in 1835, was with a remarkable fellow by the name of Charles Darwin, whose revolutionary theory of human origins changed our perception of the world. Biggles intends to return to Australia in 50 years and see who has aged worse--Harriet or he. You, crocodile, are very tasty. Koala bears... "cute and cuddly, until they rip your face off," so one of the zookeepers claimed. Not a crocodile. He wishes he could be as frightening as a crocodile. More crocodile wannabe's. Please don't feed the animals. Neither should you swim, run, play, or send your kid in with the animals (all right, you can send your kid in). Mud wrestling, Galapagos turtle style! Koala bears... one the few creatures on earth lazier than Tom, Brad, or Biggles. A zookeeper struggles to lead a camel, helped by his assistant, Camel-Toe Annie, who urged the camel on by occassionally slapping its rump. Kangaroos roamed freely across the Australia Zoo. You, kangaroo, are very tasty. Biggles presents... a kangaroo! (Not to mention a fine buffalo shot). The Tasmanian Devil, who looks and behaves nothing like the Warner Bros. character. The Otter Keeper, who spun fanciful tales of otters biting off other Keeper's fingers. Otters: Cute, furry, loveable... until they rip your face off. Biggles, aka A New Breed of Dragon, with fellow Ultima Dragon: Mike Fleming, aka Contrapuntal Dragon. Before meeting up in Brisbane, they had only known each other through email.
